In the Early 1970’s, after Eric Zimmerman received his education at the California Institute of Arts, his neon Light Art soon found its way into museums, art galleries and private collections worldwide. Having achieved this degree of recognition he began to focus his attention on architectural uses of his neon art through a series of collaboration with his father, architect Bernard Zimmerman. In 1980, Eric Zimmerman founded Archigraphics and subsequently Architectural Cathode Lighitng, which more clearly reflected a further shift from art to lighting. Know as, ACL, Inc., ACL became a leading lighting provider of cold cathode, neon and LED. Eric has never lost his fascination for light as an art form. Below is a gallery of his work at ACL.

Archive of Products
Architecture Cathode Lighting was the commercial arm which produced lighting for the building industry. This is an archive of the products which ACL produced with installations in dozens of projects worldwide. ACL (Architectural Cathode Lighting) consisted of a team of artisans, designers and technicians that produced a unique blend of innovative neon, cold cathode and LED lighting. The products reflect an art and design sensibility responsive to the interests of architects, lighting designers, electric engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and other related specifiers. With an emphasis in producing the highest level of quality and service, the products facilitate the functional and esthetic requirements that embody the specific requirements for each project.

Cathode B100
Cathode B100 is ACL’s single lamp standard output cold cathode compact ballast system that can be placed in coves with conduit feed for an easy and economical installation.
They have a significant extended lamp life and have no socket shadows and require no lamp overlap. Cold Cathode comes in a variety of colors, with economical dimming available with many commercial dimming systems.
Cathode B100 is a system making it simple to track parts and install due to only 2 styles of lampholders required. They are perfect for both commercial and residential applications.
Cathode B200
Cathode B200 is ACL’s high output double lamp cold cathode compact ballast system that can be placed in coves with conduit feed for an easy and economical installation.
They have a significant extended lamp life and have no socket shadows and require no lamp overlap. Cold Cathode comes in a variety of colors, with economical dimming available with many commercial dimming systems.

Using state of the art, silent, energy efficient electronic power supplies, cSTRP are shorter in height and more compact than traditional cold cathode systems. cSTRP fixtures ship pre-wired and assembled for installation in minutes resulting in significant labor savings. cSTRP 2.0 features ACL's new "Snap and Slide" extrusions for easy access to lamps and ballasts. cSTRP can be daisy-chained using trade size KOs for continuous pass-thru of electrical conductors in conjunction with standard electrical fittings and connectors. Configurations with single or double lamps are available in a wide range of colors.
cSTRPmini

Streamlites 2.0
New and improved Streamlite 2.0 offers a creative way to illuminate an interior space. ACL's new threaded eCVR with no visible fasteners make this luminaire even more sleek and minimalistic giving the impression of light floating in space. Streamlite 2.0 Cold Cathode lamps have end to end illumination, and are available in several standard lengths and colors. The armature mounted lamps include various methods for integrating the power supply.
Streamlite 2.0 can be suspended from ceilings, mounted to walls, installed in coves,freestanding and more. The luminaire offers unlimited possibilities that are both classic and timeless.
Streamlites FL 2.0
New and improved Streamlite FL 2.0 (fluorescent) offers a creative way to illuminate an interior space while supporting energy efficient fluorescent lamps. ACL's new threaded lamp holders with no visible fasteners make this luminaire even more sleek and minimalistic then its predecessor. Streamlite FL 2.0 fixtures are available in standard T8, 4', 5' and 6' lengths, as well as 8' custom lamp length upon request. Lamps are mounted to an armature with multiple power supply options.
The Streamlite FL 2.0 luminaire offers unlimited possibilities that are both aesthetically timeless and energy efficient.
AXXS SL
Streamlites Cold Cathode, AXXS offers a creative way to illuminate an interior space with cold cathode lamps. The AXXS hub allows lamps to be rotated to a fixed position at multiple angles for one of a kind installations. ACL's new threaded eCVR with no visible fasteners make this luminaire sleek and minimalistic, giving the impression of light floating in space.
AXXS Cold Cathode lamps have end to end illumination and are available in several lengths and colors. This uminaire offers unlimited possibilities that are both classic and timeless.
AXXS FL (Fluorescent)
AXXS FL offers a creative way to illuminate an interior space while supporting energy efficient fluorescent lamps. Axxnt • LED
Axxnt is ACL’s modular LED product solution designed for wall or cove mounting. The exposed Axxnt is encased in an elegant clear satin aluminum case with a clear frosted acrylic lens. They are available in 30 and 120 degree beam spreads. LED offers energy saving features and come in a variety of colors. Linked fixtures can conform to short or long sweeping curved architectural features while maintaining even light output.
Due to Axxnt’s precise light distribution and even luminance they are an excellent choice for dynamic illumination of interior and exterior structures and architectural applications. Low wattage consumption combined with extended life make Axxnt an economical choice. They are available in a variety of lengths, as well as custom lengths.
Slimlite • LED
Slimlite is ACL’s slim modular LED product solution designed for wall or cove mounting. Slimlite is encased in a clear weatherproof tubular enclosure, perfect for a variety of mountings. LED offers energy saving features and come in a variety of colors. Linked fixtures can conform to short or long sweeping curved architectural features while maintaining even light output.
Due to Slimlites precise light distribution and even luminance they are an excellent choice for highlighting interior and exterior applications. Cubx

Lineon • Neon
Lineon, lines of NEON are ACL’s NEON solution offering seamless illumination for linear architectural outline lighting. Lineon is a perfect solution for long extensions or following shapes and contours of buildings or structures. Lineon is relatively economical and has an extended life. They are available in many colors and provide minimal maintenance.
Lineon has an elegant quality when manufactured and installed by a company such as ACL that strives for the highest level of quality and craftsmanship. ACL’s emphasis is on art and design and provides a great deal of thought and detail into every neon project.
Lite Towers
Imagine rows of vertical shafts of light that border a walkway, an entrance, or a progression of light sculptures winding through a plaza. Litetower is 6’5” in diameter and is 12’ high. The construction includes a translucent high impact acrylic DR out tube, with a 4" inner structural steel tube for secure mounting and housing all electrical components. Litetowers is available with 1, 2 or 3 lamps. Lamps can be monochromatic or a combination of colors for a dramatic color-changing effect.
Litetower is UL listed for dry and wet locations. Exciting materials such as brushed stainless steel cladding and stainless steel mesh can be wrapped around the acrylic tubing to create unique installations for every project.
ET • Strut
T (Electric Trees) is a hybrid of a luminare and light sculpture. This concept is a metamorphosis of the Electric Tree series, which were large-scale site-specific light sculptures.
ET consists of three key structural assemblies; the base structure and cover, the power trunk and the head. The base structure and cover is designed to house electrical components. The power trunk is a vertical fluted aluminum section that can extend as much as 20 feet high. The flutes are designed to accept the attachments of unlimited designs.
ET • Shadelite
The design was inspired by Tina Aghassian, senior designer of Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design, an internationally acclaimed lighting design firm. Initially this light was created for a leading software company in Redmond, Washington. Shadelite is a continuation of the ET (Electric Trees) luminare sculpture series. Shadelite is constructed with a metallic mesh that wraps around a tubular light column. The column is supported by a fluted satin aluminum power trunk.
ET consists of three key structural assemblies; the base structure and cover, the power trunk and the head. The base structure and cover is designed to house electrical components. The power trunk can extend as much as 20 feet high. The shade was engineered to smoothly slide down vertical fluted rails along the power trunk to access the lamps.
